Resources for State Aid Rules
By: Mao Yang, Assistant Operations Engineer
Since August 2020, the State Aid Design Advisory Committee (PDF) has been meeting monthly as part of a larger effort to inform, education, build and share resources related to the State Aid Rules.
The State Aid design standards review process was developed with local agencies to proactively review standards, improve lead and response time, and provide clarity on design revisions.
The committee is made up of thirteen county and city engineering professionals. Their work has included the refinement of the Design Standards Review Process, the development of a visualization tool for 8820 and the review and prioritization of design topics from stakeholders.
The DRAFT version of the Visualization Tool is ready, and we would like to hear your thoughts and feedback! It will be distributed through the MCEA and CEAM contact lists shortly.
