MFT Site Information
By: Lisa Daniels, Metro Federal Aid Project Manager
Now that the Managed File Transfer (MFT) site has been up and running for a while, we want to go over some good reminders about the site and its use:
Anyone that has an account must log in every 30-45 days to keep the account active.
- After 45 days your password expires
- NOTE: Five days before your password expires, you will receive an automated message from firstname.lastname@example.org warning you reset your password. Please ensure that this email is added to your safe senders list to avoid this going to your junk mail.
- After 60 days of no activity, accounts become locked.
- After 90 days of no activity, accounts are deleted.
If you are setting up a file and adding people, please notify them of these facts.
If you are the person that has given access to someone else (added their email) and they have been locked out or deleted, a simple fix is to go back into that specific folder, delete and re-enter their email address. This will generate an email to the recipient and then they can update or create a new account.
If you are the person locked out, please start by contacting the original MnDOT person that set up the account. They should be able to update the folder with your email (deleting and re-entering it), which will prompt the system to send you a link and you can update your account.
Another item to note is every time a document is added or deleted, each person on the account (folder) will receive an email for every item that is put in the folder if it is set up that way (Notifications setting can be updated).
Instead of adding several people to the folder, it may be more helpful to JUST add the people that truly need to access the MFT site. Otherwise, each individual user can go in and adjust their notification settings as desired here:
