These are to be used as Design Aids/Tools. No direct reference should be made in your project Special Provisions to the SALT Web Page and the various web sites for special provision language on the site. The SALT website is constantly updated and so should not be the basis of a contract.
One way to avoid this is to download the web site special provisions from the SALT Web site to a local web site just prior to the advertising period (“freeze it”) and reference the local web site in the special provisions. But there may be other ways to address the concern. County and City Engineers need to work out any implementation of the technique with their agency attorney.
