State Aid Manual 2007 Edition- Old Version

The Minnesota Department of Transportation State Aid for Local Transportation (SALT) Division, District State Aid Engineers and Support Specialists work closely with local units of government to ensure the state maintains a safe, effective, and coordinated highway network. The State Aid Staff provide technical assistance in highway and bridge design, construction and maintenance, authorizes grants for bridge construction, coordinates federally funded local projects, and provides overall management of the State Aid system.

About the Manual

The 2007 edition of the State Aid Manual, completely updated and redesigned, offers the official guidance, rules, and procedures for state and federal aid transportation projects. It is now organized by project phases, uses a simpler numbering system, and includes direct links to important resources, making it faster for you to find what you need.

How to Use the Manual

Each chapter, listed as links on the left side of this page and also available for download as a PDF file, contains several sections, listed on the right side of each page. A revision log, only available for download as a PDF file linked from each chapter web page, tracks updates to that chapter. The entire manual is searchable using the search form in the upper right.
