What is the State Non-Motorzied Transportation Advisory Committee?

The State Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Committee serves as the central advisory body to develop non-motorized transportation, goals, policies and standards in Minnesota. As such, the legislative authorized committee, Minnesota Statute 174.37, advises and makes recommendations to the commissioner of transportation.

Purpose

  • Address issues and needs relating to non-motorized transportation
  • Make non-motorized transportation a viable and recreation option
  • Develop and participate in educational and safety campaigns

Membership

Committee membership consists of up to 28 members - ten agency representatives, 7 public members at-large, and 11 district representatives. Members serve four-year terms.
