I-35W/Hwy 62 Crosstown reconstruction project

Project Description

The Portland Ave. Bridge was rehabilitated. The bridge deck was replaced, creating a smoother ride and enhanced durability, and the lighting and railings were replaced for enhanced safety. Safety and accessibility improvements were also made for pedestrians and bicyclists, including:

• Wider sidewalks (increased from 5 feet to 8 feet wide)
• Curb ramp updates
• Truncated domes added (raised bumps that mark intersections)
