About the Target Formula

 

The current target formula used to distribute transportation funding to MnDOT’s eight districts was developed in 1996. Since that time, MnDOT has adopted an Interregional Corridor (IRC) system plan, bottleneck removal policies, and an updated performance-based state plan. With reauthorization of the federal transportation bill on the horizon, MnDOT has decided it is time to assess how these federal funds can best be managed to ensure that strategic transportation needs and priorities are met.
