Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 36 improvements to begin May 29

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Motorists will experience construction along an 8-mile stretch of Highway 36 between North St. Paul and Oak Park Heights beginning May 29, weather permitting.

Work will take place between Highway 120 in North St. Paul, through Lake Elmo to just east of Washington Avenue in Oak Park Heights.

The project includes minor grading and resurfacing on the road, revising signal timings and  adding traffic management signs.

During construction, motorists will encounter non-rush hour lane restrictions on Highway 36. The project is anticipated to be complete in late August.

The St. Croix Project Office, located at 1862 Greeley St. in Stillwater, is open to the public from
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with extended office hours on Tuesdays until 6:30 p.m.
