MnDOT will close Hwy 22 due to flooding

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is closing Hwy 22 between Richmond and Eden Valley due to flooding.

The north end of the closure will be at the intersection of Hwy 23 and Hwy 22 near Richmond. The south end of the closure will be at the intersection of Hwy 55 and Hwy 22 near Eden Valley. Hwy 22 will remain closed until water recedes.

Heavy rains are causing high water in the Eden Valley area. Motorists should proceed with caution when encountering water on a roadway.

Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
