Temporary lane closure scheduled for eastbound Highway 36 on July 13

Crews to fix erosion issues along highway

ST. PAUL, Minn. – A single lane on eastbound Highway 36 from Dale Street to Interstate 35E will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, while crews install concrete barriers along the shoulder and place fiber blankets on the highway slope to prevent further erosion caused by recent heavy rains, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.

 

Erosion control work will continue into Thursday, if necessary.   

 

The erosion issues are at the site of a project that is reconstructing the Highway 36 and Rice Street interchange, which includes widening Rice Street and replacing the Rice Street bridge. All work on the project was halted July 1 due to the state government shutdown.
