Hwy 169/Interstate 494 interchange reconstruction kickoff ceremony takes place April 14
Open house to follow ceremony
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Anyone interested in celebrating the kickoff of the Highway 169/Interstate 494 interchange reconstruction project is invited to the project’s official kickoff ceremony on Thursday, April 14.
The ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. at 8050 W. 78th Street in Edina, in the Hellmuth & Johnson, PLLC building. The program includes speeches from local dignitaries and a ceremonial photograph.
An open house in the same location will follow the ceremony and be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Information about the project, including design layouts and images of the future interchange, noise data and schedule information will be on display, as well as information about roundabouts. Members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions and a brief presentation about upcoming project events will be given at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.
The project will convert the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps and removing traffic signals, which will reduce congestion and improve safety.
