Workzone at night

Mankato and Windom Area Highways Remain Closed

Mankato, Minn. - (8 a.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation at Mankato and Windom remind motorists that area state highways and Interstate 90 from South Dakota to Albert Lea remain closed this morning. Those counties affected include:

• Nicollet
• Waseca
• LeSueur
• Sibley
• Rock
• Nobles
• Jackson
• Cottonwood
• Martin
• Faribault
• Blue Earth
• Watonwan
• Brown

Mn/DOT crews are out and are concentrating on I-90 and other major roadways including U.S. Highways 169, 14 and State Highway 60. Operators are hoping to have these roads open by mid-day.

Motorists should plan accordingly. When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
