Look-ahead high points:

  • Paving of the 4.75 mm HMA thinlays on NRRA PM Cells 201 and 215 is planned for Tuesday, August 8.
  • Excavation work and subsurface drain installation in Cells 128/228 will continue next week.
  • Cells 127/227 and 128/228: Subgrade modification (to create a weak condition) is planned for late the week of August 7. Crushed rock and agg base placement is currently planned for the week of August 14.
  • Much of the HMA paving on the mainline and low-volume road is tentatively planned beginning the week of August 14. This includes all shoulder paving and Cells 185/186/188/189.
  • Construction of the NRRA CCPR sections currently planned for week of August 14. First up will be construction of the test strips. These will be done in the Contractor’s plant yard. Details on the location will be provided as the date gets closer. Surface construction (both HMA and double chip seals) is dependent on actual date of CCPR placement.
  • Cells X05: Final cleaning and installation of fabric is planned for Wednesday, August 16 (not Thursday, August 17). Paving is scheduled for Friday, August 18.
  • Traffic is planned to be switched early in September to facilitate construction of the HMA overlays on the original WB I-94 concrete.
