Monday, July 24
OMRR personnel setting up gas permeameter in prep for in situ aggregate base testing this week.
Cells X85/X86: MnROAD and UTEP personnel performing final installation of subgrade sensors (pressure cells, accelerometers) in prep for aggregate base this week.
Cells X24: CSM installing subsurface drain.
Cells X88/X89: CSM performing final grading and tolerance of grading subgrade.

 

 

Tuesday, July 25
Cell 185: Contractor placing agg base Class 5Q (recycled PCC). MnROAD personnel collected research samples of agg base.
Cell 186: Contractor placing agg base Class 5 (recycled PCC). MnROAD personnel collected research samples of agg base.
Cells 188/189: MnROAD and UTEP personnel performed geotechnical point tests.
Cells 27/28: Milling operations. Much of Cell 27 bituminous had previously been removed by excavation. Millings hauled to stockpile for sizing.
Cells 33-35: Milling operations. Millings hauled to stockpile for sizing.
Cells 2-4: Milling operations. Millings hauled to stockpile for sizing.

Wednesday, July 26
Cells X15/X01: Micro-milling today. Sand patch testing. Post mill profile runs.
Site wide: Contractor cleanup sweeping operations.
Cell 189: Contractor placing Class 6 (recycled PCC/RAP) agg base.
Cells X27/X28: Excavation.

Thursday, July 27
Cells X27/X28: Excavation work.
Cells X01/X15: MnROAD personnel installing sensors in prep for paving tomorrow.

Friday, July 28
Cells 188/189: Contractor placing limestone base material in Cell 188. Blading and compacting. MnROAD personnel collected base samples.
Cells X27/X28: Contractor excavation work.
Cells 215/201: Contractor placed micro-surfacing scratch course.

Look-ahead high points:

  • See the attached look-ahead schedule for the weeks of July 31 and August 7 provided by CSM yesterday at the weekly meeting.
  • Micro-surface surface course on NRRA PM Cells 101 and 115 planned for 7:00 am Monday, July 31.
  • Asphalt paving of the 4.75 mm thinlays on NRRA PM Cells 201 and 215 is planned Tuesday or Wednesday, August 1 or 2.
  • Cells X05: Final cleaning and installation of fabric is planned for Tuesday or Wednesday, August 8 or 9 (not Thursday, August 10). Paving is scheduled for Friday, August 10.
  • Excavation work in Cells 127/227 and 128/228 will continue the week of July 31.
  • Construction of the NRRA CCPR sections is currently planned for mid-August.
  • Disregard the last activity “Common Excavation” in Cells 133-233 and 135-235. This is an error and is not planned.
  • Traffic is planned to be switched early in September to facilitate construction of the HMA overlays on the original WB I-94 concrete.
