Cells X38/X39: In preparation for Friday paving, MnROAD personnel laid out proposed test panels, fished lead wires and set pavement sensors.
Cells 85/86: CSM stripping topsoil and excavating permeable base.
LVR median ditch: MPCA consultant present to sample soils adjacent to Cells 77-79 for the proposed weir study.

Cells X38/X39: MnROAD personnel continued to fish lead wires and set pavement sensors.
Cells 88/89: CSM stripping topsoil and excavating permeable base.

Thursday, July 13
Cells X38/X39: MnROAD personnel performing final preparations for paving tomorrow.
Cells 85/86/88/89: CSM excavation operations.
LVR median ditch: MPCA's consultant and contractor present to begin work on new weir study.

Friday, July 14
Cells X38: Paving scheduled for 7:00 am.
Cells 85/86/88/89: Final excavation work. Grading subgrade soils.

Look-ahead high points

  • See the look-ahead schedule for the weeks of July 17 and 24 provided by CSM at the weekly meeting.
  • Concrete paving of Cells X39 planned for Monday, July 17, 7:00 am.
  • Cells 185-189: University of Texas at El Paso researchers will be at MnROAD next week to begin installation of subsurface sensors.
  • Cells 185-189 and 127-228: CSM will be installing subsurface drain adjacent to these sections (next to median ditch) late next week and early the week of July 24.
  • Cells X05: Final cleaning/installation of fabric, and paving scheduled for next week Monday and Thursday, respectively.
  • Milling operations: CSM plans to perform all milling Tuesday and Wednesday, the week of July 24. This includes micro-milling on Cells 1 and 15, milling pavement for removal on Cells 127/227 and 128/228, and shoulders adjacent to Cells 2-4.
  • Construction of the NRRA PM sections (micro-surface and thinlays in Cells X01/X15) is planned the week of July 24.
  • Construction of the NRRA CCPR sections is tentatively planned for middle of August.
  • Traffic is planned to be switched early in September to facilitate construction of the HMA overlays on the original WB I-94 concrete.
