Primary Responsibility
The Metro Electrical Services Unit (MESU) is responsible
for traffic signal and freeway lighting maintenance in the
Metro District. These responsibilities include the electrical maintenance
activities for 635 traffic signals and 22,000 roadway lights. MESU also
repairs other miscellaneous highway electrical systems in the Metro District
including overhead freeway sign lights, river bridge navigation lights,
I-94 tunnel lights, and rest area lighting.
