Highway 8 in Lindstrom
Status
- Final design and right of way acquisition will begin mid-2009
- Construction planned to begin in 2011
Background
In 2004, Federal law “SAFETEA-LU” provided $5.76 million for capacity and safety improvements to Highway 8 from west of 306th to the eastern limits of Lindstrom. These funds, along with state and local funds will be used to construct this project.
Municipal Consent Public Hearings on Layout Approval by City of Lindstrom & Chisago City were held June 24th and 26th, 2008, Municipal consent was offered by both cities & support of a Memorandum of Understanding provided. Chisago County also offered their support of the MOU.
