Lane closures

This project will have three phases of construction.

  • Late July 2014- November 2014
    • Night and weekend lane closures expected
    • Lane restrictions are not expected during 2014 and 2015 winter months
  • Spring 2015- November 2015
    • Construction on the southbound side of I-494
    • Temporary¬†closures of ramps along I-494 between I-394 and I-694/94
    • I-494 between Hwy 55 and I-394 will be open to two-lanes of traffic in each direction, on the northbound side of I-494.
    • I-494 between Hwy 55 and I-694/94 will be open to three lanes of traffic; two southbound lanes during peak a.m. hours, one northbound lane; and, two lanes of northbound traffic during the peak p.m. hours and one southbound lane.
  • Spring 2016- November 2016
    • Traffic will be shifted to the southbound side of I-494
    • Construction on the northbound side of I-494, traffic will be shifted to the southbound side of the road.
    • Temporary¬†closures of interstate ramps at Schmidt Lake Rd, County Road 47 and at the Canadian Pacific Railway
    • I-494 between Hwy 55 and I-394 will be open to two-lanes of traffic in each direction, on one the northbound side of I-494.
    • I-494 between Hwy 55 and I-694/94 will be open to three lanes of traffic; two southbound lanes during peak a.m. hours, one northbound lane; and, two lanes of northbound traffic during the peak hours and one southbound lanes.

  • Repair and reconstruct the concrete pavement on I-494 between I-394 and the I-94/494/694 interchange (Fish Lake Interchange).

    • County Road 47
    • Canadian Pacific Railway
    • Schmidt lake Road

    • Carlson Parkway
    • Cheshire lane
  • Widen the right shoulders between Hwy 55 and East Fish Lake Road to facilitate a right-side dynamic shoulder.
  • Construct storm water ponds and noise barriers.
