As part of the I-494 project, MnDOT plans to use approximately 1.7 acres of property from Cedar Island Lake Linear Park along the west shore of Cedar Island Lake to construct a storm water pond. The purpose of the storm water pond is to provide water quality treatment of runoff from the highway before it is discharged to Cedar Island Lake. Constructing the storm water pond requires us to remove trees from Cedar Island Lake Linear Park. The trail connection between Teakwood Lane and East Fish Lake Road will be maintained. Additional information regarding the I-494 project and potential impacts to Cedar Island Lake Linear Park can be found in the Section 4(f) De Minimis Report.
