Nighttime work and construction noise

Residents that live near I-494 between the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers may hear noise beginning this week as crews work to remove pavement, set barrier and pave the road. We will update you if the schedule changes as this work progresses.

Lane closures

7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tue, July 7
  • EB I-494 reduced to a single lane between Pilot Knob Rd and Dodd Rd.

Ramp closures

7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tue, July 7
  • EB I-494 ramp to NB I-35E closed
    • Detour: Hwy 149/Dodd Road Ramp to WB I-494 to access NB I-35E.

  • I-494 bridge decks over I-35E
    • Resurface
    • Replace joints
  • Repair I-494 pavement between 3rd Ave. and the east side of the Minnesota River bridge
  • Improve drainage and construct ponds
  • Replace lighting
  • Add turn lane and replace signals at I-494 and Pilot Knob Rd.

  • Replaced or repaired I-494 pavement between Hardman Ave. and 5th Ave.
  • Improved drainage and constructed ponds
  • Constructed noise and retaining walls
