Project update May 15, 2012

Traffic is reduced to a single lane in each direction between County 96 in White Bear Lake and the I-35E/I-35W split in Columbus (south of Forest Lake).

The ramp from County Road 14 to northbound I-35E, as well as the ramps from northbound I-35E to eastbound and westbound County Road 14 were reopened to traffic Monday, May 14.

The I-35E ramps at Ramsey County J closed Monday, May 14 but will reopen by Monday, May 21.

Ramp Closure Schedule:

• I-35E ramps at Ramsey County J are closed for approximately seven days beginning May 14.

All closures subject to change due to weather or other circumstances.

 

Benefits

• The project will reconstruct northbound I-35E from Columbus to White Bear Lake. It includes removing the existing blacktop pavement and replacing it with a new concrete overlay. Work on the southbound lanes was completed last year.
• The box culvert that carries Clearwater Creek underneath I-35E, just south of the I-35E/Anoka County Road 14 interchange in Lino Lakes was replaced last year.
