- 1st Ave is one way traffic heading east. Access to post office and bank are off of either Park Street or Maple Street.
- Olinda Trail, Boadway, and Akerson North are closed until mid-June. Access using either Irene or County Road 20 and follow detour signs.
- County Road 14 north of Hwy 8 is closed. Access to businesses is open.
- Hwy 8 is not experiencing any major delays. Speed limit is 30 mph through the construction zone.
Pedestrian impacts
- Follow pedestrian detour signs if sidewalks are closed
What to expect
- East and westbound Hwy 8 traffic will be separated into a "one-way pair" in the downtown area between Linden and Elm Streets. Hwy 8 (Lake Boulevard) will carry eastbound traffic, and 1st Avenue will carry westbound traffic.

Benefits
Safety, capacity and mobility issues along the highway in Lindstrom will be addressed.
-
This reconstruction will increase the current capacity of the highway and improve safety.
- Pedestrian facilities, including trails and sidewalks, will be constructed on both sides of Hwy 8 between County Road 14 and Akerson Street. A portion of the Swedish Immigrant Trail from County Road 14 to Dew Drop Lane in Center City also lies within the project area.
- A new bridge will be built over a channel connecting North Lindstrom and South Lindstrom Lakes. The bridge will provide an important access for boaters who frequent these two lakes, which are part of the Chain of Lakes System.
- Frontage roads planned in some areas will improve safety by removing direct driveway access to Hwy 8.
- New traffic signals will be provided along Hwy 8 at County Road 14 (Lincoln Road), County Road 20 (North Lakes Trail), County Road 25 (Olinda Trail) and at Akerson Street.
- Improvements are being made because traffic levels on Hwy 8 in Lindstrom are over-capacity. The Lindstrom segment of Hwy 8 also carries the highest volumes of traffic. This high volume of traffic has resulted in higher crash rates than on other areas of Hwy 8.
