Traffic impacts
Access to local businesses will be maintained throughout the project.
May 15 – June 28
County Road 13/Bavaria Road at Hwy 5 closed
- County Road 13/Bavaria Road is closed between Hwy 5 and 78th Street, and will reopen by June 28. The signed detour follows 78th Street. View or print detour map.
May 30 – August 30
Hwy 5 between Hwy 41 and County Road 11/Victoria Drive will be open to local traffic only
- Hwy 5 will be closed to through traffic – but open to local traffic and local businesses – between Hwy 41 and County Road 11 from May 29 to Sept. 3. Plan travel time and routes carefully as sections of Hwy 5 will be closed, lane closures will occur daily and flaggers will control traffic as needed.
- The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum will remain accessible using westbound Hwy 5. All other Hwy 5 businesses will also remain accessible throughout the project. For directions during the detour, contact the local business.
May 30 – August 30
Hwy 5 closed between Steiger Lake Lane’s eastern junction and County Road 11
- Local businesses and residences east of Hwy 11 will be accessible using Steiger Lake Lane.
- The closure is needed as crews replace drainage pipes beneath the roadway, construct a right turn lane from County Road 11 to westbound Hwy 5, rebuild sections of roadbed and conduct other necessary work.
