What we did
A full interchange has been constructed at the Hwy 52/47 junction in Hampton. New loops and ramps were added to the existing bridge that spans Hwy 47 across Hwy 52, a new frontage road has also been completed. Local roads are being improved and other necessary work will be completed this fall. View/print project layout (PDF). Businesses with questions or concerns can contact the project's business liaison, Diane Langenbach.
Benefits include:
- Safe access to local businesses using the new ramps, frontage road and improved local system
- Maintains the right-turn from northbound Hwy 52 to Hampton’s east-side businesses
- Culverts were replaced for drainage improvements
- Frontage road contains a truck turn around
- The city of Hampton now has two full Hwy 52 interchanges – one at Hwy 47, and one at Hwy 50. The dual interchanges will improve safety and create an effective local and regional transportation system.
