Motorists

Spring 2015 to fall 2015

  • The eastbound lanes of the Hwy 5 bridge will be closed.
  • Both directions of Hwy 5 will be single lane with traffic traveling on the westbound lanes of the Hwy 5 bridge.
  • The Edgcumbe Road bridge spanning Hwy 5/West 7th Street will be closed for 60 days. Traffic will be detoured to Davern Street and St. Paul Avenue. The bridge will reopen from Gannon Road after the repair work is complete.
  • The eastbound lanes of the Mississippi River Boulevard/Shepard Road bridge will be closed.
  • Eastbound traffic on Mississippi River Boulevard and westbound traffic on Shepard Road will be single lane with traffic traveling on the westbound lanes of the bridge.
  • The ramp from westbound Hwy 55 to eastbound Hwy 5 will be closed.
  • The ramp from eastbound Hwy 5 to to Edgcumbe Road, Shepard Road and Mississippi River Boulevard will be closed.
  • The ramp from eastbound Hwy 5 to Norfolk Avenue will be closed.

Winter 2015/2016

  • There will be no construction on the Hwy 5 bridge; the bridge will be open to two lanes of traffic in each direction.
  • All lanes, ramps and bridges associated with the Hwy 5 bridge project will be open to traffic.

Spring 2016 to fall 2016

  • The westbound lanes of the Hwy 5 bridge will be closed.
  • Both directions of Hwy 5 will be single lane with traffic traveling on the eastbound lanes or the Hwy 5 bridge.
  • Westbound Shepard Road/Mississippi Boulevard will be closed at Hwy 5. Traffic will be detoured to Davern Street, Sheridan Avenue and Prior Avenue.
  • The ramp from Mississippi River Boulevard/Shepard Road to westbound Hwy 5 will be closed.
  • The ramp from southbound Edgcumbe Road to westbound Hwy 5 will be closed.
  • The ramp from westbound Hwy 55 to eastbound Hwy 5 will be closed.

Pedestrians and bicyclists

Spring 2015 to fall 2015

The sidewalk along eastbound Mississippi River Boulevard/Shepard Road will remain open while crews repair the deck over Hwy 5.

Spring 2016 to fall 2016

The sidewalk along westbound Hwy 5 will be closed. Use Ford Parkway or I-35E to cross the Mississippi River.
