Traffic impacts

Motorists

Spring 2015 to fall 2015

  • The westbound lanes of the Hwy 5 bridge will be closed.
  • Both directions of Hwy 5 will be single lane with traffic traveling on the eastbound lanes of the Hwy 5 bridge.
  • The Edgcumbe bridge spanning Hwy 5/West 7th Street will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to Davern Street and St. Paul Avenue.
  • The eastbound lanes of the Mississippi River Boulevard/Shepard Road bridge will be closed.
  • Eastbound traffic on Mississippi River Boulevard and westbound traffic on Shepard Road will be single lane with traffic traveling on the westbound lanes of the bridge.

Winter 2015/2016

  • There will be no construction on the Hwy 5 bridge; the bridge will be open to two lanes of traffic in each direction

Spring 2016 to fall 2016

  • The eastbound lanes of the Hwy 5 bridge will be closed.
  • Both directions of Hwy 5 will be single lane with traffic traveling on the westbound lanes or the Hwy 5 bridge.
  • Westbound Shepard Road/Mississippi Boulevard will be closed at Hwy 5. Traffic will be detoured to Davern Street, Sheridan Avenue and Prior Avenue.

The sidewalk along eastbound Mississippi River Boulevard/Shepard Road will be closed.

Spring 2016 to fall 2016

The sidewalk along westbound Hwy 5 will be closed. Use Ford Parkway or I-35E to cross the Mississippi River.
