Mn/DOT issues Request for Proposals

Next Steps

The three Design-Build Teams are preparing proposals. Mn/DOT anticipates opening and evaluating proposal price bids in late May and June using a best value process. At that time, the contractor and bridge type will both be selected.

 

Replacement of the Hastings Bridge

Mn/DOT began assessing replacement options for the Hwy 61 Hastings Bridge in response to many factors, including:

Mn/DOT announced its preferred alternative for two new bridge options on July 15, 2009 at Hastings City Hall. After the decision, the project team continued to work on the Request for Proposal to develop more detailed construction requirements for both bridge types.

 

On Jan. 13, 2010, Mn/DOT released a Request for Proposal to three contractors who qualified to compete for the design-build contract for the project. For more information, see the news release.
