If traveling west on Co Rd 96 continue WB past the Hwy 10 ramp to reach I-35W
About this project
Crews will finish building a new ramp to carry traffic over a second ramp that will be built this year. The second ramp will allow northbound I-35W traffic to reach Co Rd H. It also will provide direct access to the Rice Creek Commons development on the site of the former Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP).
A new noise wall is being built along the west side of I-35W between County Road I and County Road H.
Ramsey County, in cooperation with MnDOT and the cities of Arden Hills and Mounds View, led the design for reconstruction of the Co Rd H interchange at I-35W.
Summary of work
Ramsey County, in cooperation with MnDOT and the cities of Arden Hills and Mounds View, led reconstruction of the County Road H interchange at I-35W.
The project included reconstruction of County Road H from Old Hwy 8/County Road 77 to the east I-35W ramp, completed in 2016.
The work also rebuilt the County Road H/Highway 10/County Road 10 intersection. County Road H now includes a new wider bridge over I-35W with two traffic lanes in each direction and a regional trail for bicycles and pedestrians. Two roundabouts, one at each ramp on either side of I-35W, were constructed in as part of the County Road H/I-35W interchange project. The roundabouts provide improved access and traffic flow and decrease chances of severe accidents at the intersections. For information about how roundabouts work, read MnDOT article on navigating roundabouts to learn how drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists can navigate them quickly and easily.
A new ramp from I-35W northbound to County Road H, being built in 2017, will provide direct access to the Rice Creek Commons redevelopment site.
