Safety at MN Highway 101 and 96th Street:
- No way to safely access trail on east side of Highway 101.
- Treacherous intersection to navigate (difficult turning movements, poor sight distance visibility), especially in winter.
- Traffic is building and moving too fast for the current conditions. Highway 101 is a racetrack.
Comment:
LRT Trail Crossing
- Blind trail crossing (LRT) - not good.
- Steepness of the trail descent - creates bike/vehicle conflicts (experience leading girl scout troops on bikes -- notes large groups like this use trail).
- Wants trail bridge.

Bandimere Park: Save it and the playfields! If you don’t and straighten the road through the park, it will be in our backyard. Leave the park and the wetlands around it. There aren’t enough ball fields in Chanhassen now to meet the demand so don’t take this one.
Comment:
Highway 101 is undeniably unsafe. Motorcycle traffic most recently has added to the unsafe conditions. Please do not use any part of Bandimere Park for proposed improvements to Highway 101. Too much demand to lose it.
Comment:
Leave Highway 101 as it is. Put barricades up on curves, lower the speed limit.

Address these items:
- Highway 101 and 96th Street intersection: northbound/westbound turns (blind intersection. Can’t see traffic heading south on Highway 101.
- Provide a safe access to the biking/walking trail - sidewalk on w. side of Highway 101 so a crossing can be provided at the traffic signal.

- Kiowa Trail - will there be sewer/water extended?
- Will easements/additional right-of-way be required (to make improvements), especially in areas where shoulders are narrow?
- How much impact will other local and regional street projects (i.e., Powers Boulevard) have on the Highway 101 project?
- The recent bridge improvement at Lyman Boulevard will provide for easier access (attracting additional trips?).
- Is there a plan to extend Powers Boulevard south to Old Highway 212?
