About this project
Currently, one of four projects to rebuild the I-694 Corridor between I-35E and I-35W is underway: the I-694, Hwy 10 and Snelling and Hamline Ave interchange project in Arden Hills. Click on the map below for details or read more about this project.
Winter schedule
Although snow is blanketing the I-694 North Central Project, work continues on the westbound I-694 bridge over Old Hwy 10 (Ramsey County Road 76) and westbound I-694 over eastbound Hwy 10. Bridge crews are driving piling as they build the foundations for the new bridges. Once the foundations are complete, bridge deck beams will be set this winter and activity will cease until warmer spring days return and the bridge decks can be poured.
Next year’s construction season will bring continued work on the new bridges along with construction of the new westbound lanes of I-694 between Snelling Avenue and I-35W. Work also will begin on the new alignment of Hwy 10 and the ramp from Snelling/Hamline Avenue to westbound Hwy 10. A new signal system will be installed at the intersection of Hamline Avenue and County Road F north of I-694.
The 2013 construction season also will bring construction of a new grade-separated interchange at Hwy 10 and County Road 96. County Road 96 will be closed at Hwy 10 until the fall of 2013 and Hwy 10 will be closed between I-694 and I-35W. During the Hwy 10 closure, a new unbounded concrete surface will be placed on the roadway.
