Watch for trucks and other construction traffic moving in and out of the work zone.

Trail closure

  • Medicine Lake Regional Trail (along Fernbrook Lane) closed between 99th Avenue North and Hennepin County Road 81 through December. The three-mile stretch of trail will be detoured along an existing trail east of Fernbrook Lane.

Thursday, Sept. 3, 7 a.m. through 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4

  • 101st Avenue closed between Maple Grove Parkway and Fernbrook Lane for storm sewer work. Access open to Maple Grove Yard Waste site. No impact on Fernbrook Lane or Maple Grove Parkway.


Lane closures

  • I-94 traffic will be maintained during most of the project however there will be occasional non-rush hour lane closures.
  • Fernbrook Lane will have short term closures for utility work and to set bridge beams in 2015.
  • Maple Grove Parkway closed spring of 2016 to fall of 2016.
  • County Road 81 will have occasional temporary non-rush hour  lane closures.

About this project

Summary of work

  • Realign and extend Hwy 610 from its current location at Hennepin County Road 81 and Elm Creek Boulevard to I-94 in Maple Grove.
  • Construct Hwy 610 bridge over Fernbrook Lane.
  • Construct interchange at Hwy 610 and Maple Grove Parkway.
  • Close and remove a half mile segment of 101st Avenue North, between I-94 and Fernbrook Lane.
  • Extend 105th Ave west from Holly Lane across I-94 to a new intersection with 101st Avenue.

This project will be built using a process called Design-Build.
