Eastbound Hwy 212 near Cologne closing Aug. 2-5

County Road 41 entrances to Hwy 212 closing for two weeks to build reduced conflict intersections

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists traveling eastbound on Hwy 212 in Dahlgren Township near Cologne will encounter a closure from Highway 284 to County Road 36 from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2 to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5. Crews also will close both the North and South County Road 41 entrances to Hwy 212 for two weeks.

Eastbound Hwy 212 traffic will be detoured around the closure via northbound Hwy 284, eastbound Hwy 5 and southbound Hwy 41 back to Hwy 212. Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra time and plan ahead.

While crews build the two new intersections near Cologne at County Road 41 and County Road 36 from August to November, motorists can anticipate lane closures.

More about this project

Reduced conflict intersections are intersections that decrease fatalities and injuries caused by broadside crashes on four-lane divided highways. Studies show a 70 percent reduction in fatalities and a 42 percent reduction in injury crashes where RCIs are used.
