Long-term southbound Interstate 35W traffic shift and County Road C ramp closure in Roseville beginning June 26
County Road C weekend closure scheduled for June 28-July 1
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will encounter a long-term southbound Interstate 35W traffic shift and a ramp closure at the junction of I-35W and County Road C/Long Lake Road in Roseville this week. Beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, southbound I-35W traffic will be reduced to two lanes and shifted to the northbound lanes between County Road 88 and County Road C. Additionally, the ramp from County Road C/Long Lake Road to southbound I-35W will close.
The traffic shift will remain in place and the ramp will be closed through November 2019.
Motorists should follow the posted detour for the ramp closure using County Road C to northbound Cleveland Avenue to westbound County Road D to southbound I-35W.
Additionally, County Road C will close beneath I-35W from 10 p.m. Friday, June 28 until 5 a.m. Monday, July 1, to allow crews to remove the existing southbound I-35W bridge over County Road C. Motorists should follow the posted detour for the closure using Cleveland Avenue, County Road B2 and Long Lake Road.
The lane shifts and closures are part of the I-35W North MnPASS project and are necessary as crews resurface the southbound I-35W lanes and reconstruct the southbound I-35W bridge over County Road C this year.
The I-35W North MnPASS project is a three-year reconstruction project that will repair aging infrastructure and improve mobility on I-35W between Roseville and Lino Lakes. Improvements include adding MnPASS express lanes in both directions of I-35W between Roseville and Blaine, repaving I-35W and ramps, replacing and repairing some bridges and constructing new noise walls. Construction will occur between spring 2019 and fall 2021. To learn more about the project, visit mndot.gov/metro/projects/35wnorthmnpass.
