Overnight lane closures begin Oct. 11 on eastbound I-494 in South St. Paul
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling on eastbound I-494 in South St. Paul should plan for delays as eastbound traffic is reduced to a single lane beginning Thursday, Oct. 11.
Beginning at 7 p.m., eastbound I-494 will be reduced to a single lane between Blaine Avenue and Hardman Avenue as crews restripe lanes. Eastbound I-494 will be reduced to two lanes beginning at 6 a.m., Friday, Oct. 12. Crews will restripe the road to remove an abandoned storm tunnel under the road.
All lanes are expected to reopen by noon, Friday, Oct. 12.
These lane and ramp closures are part of a larger project on I-494 where crews will widen, resurface and replace bridge joints on the Concord St/Hwy 156 bridge, construct auxiliary lanes on westbound I-494 between Hardman Avenue to west of Fifth Avenue, improve drainage and construct noise walls.
