Northbound Interstate 35W lane closure near the I-35E flyover in Lino Lakes is now open
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Earlier today, emergency maintenance crews finished repairing the northbound Interstate 35W driving lane near the I-35W/35E split in Lino Lakes. The lane restrictions have been removed and should not impact today’s afternoon rush hour traffic.
The work is part of the I-35 North Metro Split project, which includes resurfacing the existing pavement from the I-35W/I-35E split to Hwy 8; replacing the Hwy 97 bridge with a diverging diamond interchange; and replacing the northbound I-35W bridge over I-35E and the westbound Hwy 8 bridge over I-35. The project will provide a smoother surface and better ride quality, safety and traffic flow improvements at the Highway 97 interchange, and area drainage improvements.
Major construction for the project is anticipated to occur in 2018 and 2019. Motorists should anticipate long-term lane closures during each year of construction. Please plan ahead, know your route and check 511 www.511mn.org and the project website for updates: mndot.gov/metro/projects/35linolakes
