Highway 95 road closure in Washington County extended through late September
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Highway 95 between Bailey Road and 70th Street in Washington County will remain closed longer than originally planned due to rainy weather earlier this month. The ground has not dried enough to allow crews to complete paving operations.
Crews expect to re-open this section of Highway 95 by the end of September, weather permitting. The Highway 95 closure was originally scheduled to end on Friday, Sept. 7.
Highway 95 motorists will bypass the closed segment by utilizing the posted detour of 70th Street, Woodbury Drive to Bailey Road. During the closure, local property access will be maintained in the project area.
This work is part of a larger safety improvement project on Highway 95 from Valley Creek Road to Highway 61. This years’ work includes road resurfacing, widening shoulders, updating highway drainage system, installing mumble strips, constructing turn lanes and improving sight distance at specific locations. The improvements will enhance safety, provide a smoother road surface and improve traffic flow in the corridor.
The next stage of construction on Highway 95 will occur in 2019-2020 between 70th Street and Highway 61.
