State Hwy 41 full closure begins June 11
Hwy 41 Project – Jonathan Area
CHASKA, Minn. — Motorists traveling through Chaska will encounter a 12-week full road closure and detour for both directions of Hwy 41 between Hundertmark Road and Pioneer Trail beginning as early as 5 a.m. Monday, June 11 through early September 2018 to allow construction crews to widen the road from two to four travel lanes and to construct a pedestrian tunnel under Hwy 41 near Lake Grace.
Crews will begin setting up traffic control devices and temporary signage as early as Sunday evening, June 10, in preparation for the full road closure.
The Hwy 41 intersections at Hundertmark Road and Pioneer Trail will also be reconstructed as part of this project. However, they will remain partially open to traffic during construction.
Motorists will encounter lane restrictions at both intersections and a three-way stop condition at Pioneer Trail beginning June 11 through early September. During the full road closure, motorists will not be able to travel north on Hwy 41 at Hundertmark Road or south on Hwy 41 at Pioneer Trail. Business access will be available at all times. Follow the local access signs.
State Patrol will be present at the intersection of Hwy 41 and Hundertmark Road beginning at 7 a.m. on June 11 to monitor operations and assist with traffic control, as needed. State Patrol will be on site daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, for the duration of the full road closure.
The signed detour and designated truck route uses Hwy 212, Powers Boulevard and Lyman Boulevard to bypass this closure.
