Community celebration to mark grand opening of new MacKubin Street, Grotto Street pedestrian bridges on December 3
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Residents of the Rondo Community along Interstate 94 in St. Paul will gather Saturday, Dec. 3 to celebrate the grand opening of the MacKubin Street and Grotto Street pedestrian and bike bridges crossing I-94 in St. Paul. The two new bridges will open on Friday, Dec. 2, a day before the community celebration.
To celebrate these new bridges and their role in uniting the community, MnDOT invites the public to gather on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1-3 p.m. at the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center at 270 North Kent Street, St. Paul.
The replacement of the MacKubin Street and Grotto Street pedestrian and bike bridges in St. Paul began June of this year. The new bridges include safety and accessibility improvements for pedestrians and bicyclists crossing over I-94.
