Hwy 8 traffic change in Chisago County begins Oct. 18
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter a traffic change on Highway 8 between Shafer and Taylors Falls as crews work to complete the roundabout at the Highway 8 and Tern Avenue intersection.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 18, Tern Avenue at Highway 8 will close. Car traffic will be advised to follow the newly signed detour through Shafer of Redwing Avenue, 310th Street to Taylors Falls. Truck traffic will continue to be detoured to southbound Highway 95 to eastbound 243 to Osceola.
The intersection is expected to re-open by 7 p.m. Oct. 25, weather permitting.
The work is part of the Highway 8 resurfacing and improvement project. Crews will be replacing pavement on Highway 8 from the west intersection of Highway 95/Tern Ave. in Franconia and Shafer Townships to the St Croix River Bridge in Taylors Falls. The work will require the highway to be closed to through traffic. Detours are posted for cars and trucks. The project also includes constructing a roundabout at the west intersection of Highway 8 and Highway 95.
