I-35E lane closures in northeast metro scheduled Oct. 4-5
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will encounter delays and single lane traffic on Interstate 35E as crews pour the concrete deck for the I-35E bridges over Goose Lake Road in Vadnais Heights on Oct. 4 and 5.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, both directions of I-35E will be reduced to a single lane between County Road E and Highway 96. Once crews are finished pouring the deck, the lane closures are needed to keep the deck from vibrating and cracking as it hardens.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid congestion and delays. The lanes will reopen by 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, weather permitting.
The lane closures are part of the two-year I-35E Goose Lake Road and Highway 96 road resurfacing project. In addition to resurfacing, the work includes widening the road, re-decking and widening the Highway 96 bridge, replacing the I-35E bridges over Goose Lake Road, updating drainage, repairing guardrail and constructing a trail. The work is expected to be complete by December 2016.
