Inspection set next week for southbound Hwy 52 Lafayette bridge east of downtown St. Paul
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists should expect delays early next week while the Minnesota Department of Transportation performs an in-depth inspection of the southbound Highway 52 Lafayette bridge spanning the Mississippi River east of downtown St. Paul.
The inspection is scheduled Monday, Sept. 19 through Thursday, Sept. 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. During the work, the southbound bridge will be restricted to a single lane between Interstate 94 and Plato Boulevard.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid congestion. Inspection activities will be cancelled in case of high winds or other inclement weather.
This is the first major inspection of the bridge since it was built and opened to traffic late last year.
