ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter lane and ramp closures on southbound Interstate 35E in the northeast metro area while crews shift traffic to the newly completed portion of southbound I-35E.
Beginning at 6 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, southbound I-35E between Highway 96 and Interstate 694 in Vadnais Heights will be reduced to a single lane.
In addition, beginning at 6 a.m., on Sept. 17, the southbound I-35E ramps to eastbound and westbound I-694 will close. The ramp from County Road E to southbound I-35E will also close. Crews expect to complete this work by 6 p.m., Sept. 17.

The lane closures are part of the two-year I-35E Goose Lake Road and Highway 96 road resurfacing project. In addition to resurfacing, the work includes widening the road, re-decking and widening the Highway 96 bridge, replacing the I-35E bridges over Goose Lake Road, updating drainage, repairing guardrail and constructing a trail.
