Southbound Hwy 280 closed this weekend for resurfacing in Lauderdale and St. Paul
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists may encounter delays this weekend during resurfacing of the southbound lanes of Highway 280 between Broadway Street in Lauderdale and Como Avenue in St. Paul.
Southbound left (inside) lane closures will begin around 3 p.m. Friday, August 5 and the highway along with all ramps along the southbound highway will close at 10 p.m. between I-35W and Como Avenue.
The ramp from Como Avenue to southbound Highway 280 also will close.
Highway 280 and all ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, August 1.
During the closure, southbound Highway 280 traffic will detour east on Highway 36, south on Highway 51/Snelling Avenue and west on I-94.
Motorists should use alternate routes to avoid congestion and follow the signed detours to reach their destinations.
Work is expected to be complete by mid-August, weather permitting.
Resurfacing extends the life of the highway and saves money while providing smoother and more reliable transportation for Twin Cities’ travelers.
