Orange barrels on a highway

Installation of Hwy 610 cable median barrier, guardrail begins Monday, July 11 in Brooklyn Park, Osseo

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Installation of cable median barrier and guardrail along Highway 610 between Highway 252 in Brooklyn Park and Highway 169 in Osseo begins Monday evening, July 11.

During the work, motorists will encounter nighttime alternating lane and shoulder closures in each direction from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, Sunday nights through Saturday mornings.

Installation of the new barrier will be completed by early September.

Minnesota records approximately 15 fatal cross-median crashes each year on four-lane divided highways, according to crash statistics compiled by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. Concern about the severity and continued occurrence of those crashes has prompted Mn/DOT to install protective barriers in the median in areas prone to these types of crashes.
