Interstate 35E/Cayuga Street ramp and frontage road in St. Paul opens Aug. 1
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will soon have additional access around the Interstate 35E/Cayuga Street interchange as the new ramp from Cayuga Street to southbound I-35E and the new west frontage road between Cayuga Street and Pennsylvania Avenue open in St. Paul on Monday, Aug. 1.
The Cayuga Street intersection with the new west frontage road/ramp will temporarily operate as a four-way stop until electrical work at the new traffic signal system is completed later this summer. Additional work in the area will continue, as crews complete miscellaneous activities and finish construction of the ramp from southbound I-35E to Cayuga Street. The ramp from southbound I-35E to Cayuga Street is anticipated to open later this fall or next spring, weather and schedules permitting.
The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga project, which aims to reconstruct I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
