Ramps between southbound I-35W, County Road E2 will close early Tuesday, July 5 in New Brighton
Three-week closure will coordinate with local road work
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The ramps between southbound Interstate 35W and Ramsey County Road E2 in New Brighton will close for reconstruction before morning rush hour on Tuesday, July 5. At the same time, the city of New Brighton will close and reconstruct County Road E2 between 5th Avenue NW and the interstate.
During the ramp closures, motorists will be routed on a signed detour using County Road D to reach their destinations. And while County Road E2 is closed, local traffic will be routed on city streets to reach businesses along the roadway.
Construction of the new ramps to tie in with the new bridge and work on County Road E2 will be completed by Monday, July 25.
County Road E2 remains closed and detoured at I-35W during reconstruction of the bridge spanning the intestate. There will be occasional lane closures and full closures of the interstate during the work.
When completed in mid-August 2016, the new County Road E2 bridge will improve access across I-35W and improve safety for bicyclists and pedestrians. The new bridge also will be a longer lasting, smoother, wider and more modern structure.
