Highway 10 median crossovers closing by Sunday between I-694,
I-35W in Arden Hills
Dangerous, illegal turns prompt permanent closures
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation will close two median crossovers by Sunday, June 26 along Highway 10 between I-694 and I-35W in Arden Hills.
The agency is closing the openings in advance of a project this fall to install cable median barrier along the one-mile diagonal stretch of Highway 10 linking the two interstates. MnDOT plans to install the barrier to prevent motorists from making illegal and dangerous turns across the median.
“Closing this access will reduce the likelihood of crashes that could result in serious injury or death as vehicles cross the median between eastbound and westbound Highway 10," said Scott McBride, Metro District Engineer.
Once the openings are closed, westbound motorists will need to find alternate routes to reach destinations along the southwest side of Highway 10.
