Stillwater Lift Bridge 2016 schedule starts April 20

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – The Stillwater Lift Bridge’s 2016 lift schedule goes into effect full time for the 2016 boating season on Wednesday, April 20, which is earlier than required.

The bridge lift schedule will be in effect until approximately October 15. The Lift Bridge is staffed full time from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to midnight on weekends and holidays.

Visit http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/liftbridge/schedule.html for more information on the Stillwater Lift Bridge and to view a PDF of the 2016 Stillwater Lift Bridge schedule.

Starting in spring 2018, the historic Stillwater Lift Bridge spanning the St. Croix River will undergo a transformation into a bicycle/pedestrian facility. This conversion project is part of the St. Croix Crossing Project and follows the opening of the new river bridge to traffic in late 2017. The converted lift bridge will also become part of a 5-mile “loop trail” system connecting the new river crossing bridge up with the historic bridge. The lift bridge will still operate to accommodate boat navigation.  The repurposing of the historic lift bridge provides another transportation option for pedestrians and bicyclists.

For more information about the conversion go to http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/liftbridge/
