Lane and ramp closures on Highway 100 in Edina begin April 4
ROSEVILLE, Minn. –– Motorists who travel on Highway 100 through Edina should expect lane and ramp closures and detours beginning Monday, April 4.
By 5 a.m., Monday, April 4 motorists will encounter two lanes of traffic on northbound Highway 100 between Benton Avenue and W 36th Street. All lanes will reopen in mid-July.
In addition by 5 a.m. Monday, April 4, the following ramps along Highway 100 will close:
- 50th Street ramp to northbound Highway 100 will close until mid-August.
Detour: southbound Highway 100 to the Highway 62 loop to northbound Highway 100.
- Eastbound 50th Street loop to northbound Highway 100 will close until Sat. April 9, weather permitting.
Detour: 50th Street to Grange Road/Willson Road/Normandale Road to the northbound Highway 100 ramp (near Benton Avenue).
- Ramp from northbound Highway 100 to Grange Road will close until Sat. April 9, weather permitting.
Detour: northbound Highway 100 to Excelsior Boulevard to southbound Highway 100 to 50th Street.
By 5 a.m., Thursday, April 7, motorists will also encounter two lanes of traffic on southbound Highway 100 between W 36th Street and Benton Avenue. All lanes will reopen in mid-July.
The $16.7 million pavement preservation project began in 2015 and will be completed in Aug 2016. Construction includes repairing the pavement on the road and ramps and on nine bridges along the highway. Construction crews will remove the existing median guardrails and install concrete median barriers.
The construction will provide a smoother, safer road surface, and improve and extend the life of the pavement.
