Hwy 8 construction in Chisago County begins March 28
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 8 in Chisago County will encounter narrow lanes as pavement replacement work gets underway on Monday, March 28, weather permitting.
Beginning at 7 a.m., Highway 8 lanes in both directions between Highway 95/Bench Street and the Highway 8 Wisconsin Bridge will be narrowed. One lane in each direction will be maintained during the work. The lanes will be in this condition until late-May.
The work is part of the Highway 8 resurfacing and improvement project. Crews will be replacing pavement on Highway 8 from the west intersection of Highway 95/Tern Ave. in Franconia and Shafer Townships to the St Croix River Bridge in Taylors Falls. The work will require the highway to be closed to through traffic.
Detours will be posted for cars and trucks. The project also includes constructing a roundabout at the west intersection of Highway 8 and Highway 95.
