Southbound Hwy 169 at Bren Road in Edina closing June 9–23
Southbound Hwy 169 will be closed between Bren Road and Valley View Road
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Southbound Hwy 169 will be closed at Bren Road in Edina beginning early Monday morning, June 9 through June 23. The closure will stretch from Bren Road to Valley View Road.
Motorists traveling southbound Hwy 169 will be detoured to westbound Interstate 394, then southbound on I-494.
The closure is needed while crews resurface southbound Hwy 169 between Bren Road and Hwy 62. Current resurfacing work on southbound Hwy 169 between Hwy 62 and Valley View Road will continue through early July.
The work is part of a larger construction project on Hwy 169 that that will require two weekend closures of Hwy 169 and Hwy 62 through September. Additional work will include:
- Reconstructing the northbound bridge deck spanning Hwy 62.
- Resurfacing the Valley View Road and Hwy 62 entrance/exit ramps.
- Installing guardrails and improving drainage systems.
- Resurfacing northbound Hwy 169 between Bren Road and Valley View Road.
The resurfacing project features concrete repair. Performing periodic concrete pavement repairs at the correct time can greatly increase a road’s lifespan before costly reconstruction is needed.
The project is scheduled for completion in mid-September, weather permitting. Hwy 169 motorists will experience a smoother, safer road surface once completed.
